Fitting Information page

Let us find the right Gaynor Minden for you.

Our expert fitters will size you based on the information you provide below and on their years of experience working with dancers long-distance. Please answer the questions as thoroughly and precisely as you can.

If we are fitting you online, please understand that it will take a little longer to get your shoes. We need 2-3 business days to process your tracings and information. After we do this, we'll need your confirmation, by phone or email, that you would like to order the size and style that we suggest. Expedited shipping is only available after you provide this confirmation and the order is finalized.

Step 1: Trace Your Feet

Accurate foot tracings are essential. There is one for each foot.
DOWNLOAD THIS TRACING FORM.

Step 2: Scan Your Tracing or Enter Your Fitting Points Below

If you have a scanner you can email us your tracings and skip Step 2. Please be sure to write your name inside each tracing and to scan at 100% print size—same as 300 dpi. Tracings become distorted if sent by fax; please do not fax tracings.

You may also mail your tracings to us: be sure to include your full name, telephone number, and order number (if you have one).

I am sending you a scan of my tracing (please upload below)

Upload Tracing:

We are currently experiencing some difficultly when customers submit tracings. If you are submitting a tracing instead of entering your plotted points, please email the tracings with all requested information on this form to fitters@dancer.com. Thank you for your patience!

** IMPORTANT: Please enter the lengths of the reference lines in the form below.

What we need is the length of the entire red line – from just above Z to just below AA. Please measure both right and left reference lines – they could be different!

I am inputting the coordinates from my tracing (please fill out the form below)

Our online fitting system allows us to recreate your foot tracings on our computers. Please follow the instructions on the Tracing Form carefully, and be sure to note your Fitting Point Coordinates correctly.

Step 3: About You

Now that we know the size and shape of your feet, we will determine which shank, vamp, and heel will work best for you. To do that we need to know the following. Your information is confidential. The more you can tell us, the better we can fit you.

* required

Age
* Height
Weight
* Pointework Level
How long have you been on pointe?
How many hours/week do you dance on pointe?
How would you describe your arches?
* Street shoe size (US)
* Street shoe width (US)

Step 4: About Your Shoes

Tell us your pointe shoe preferences.

* Shank stiffness
(In a traditional paste shoe when perfectly broken in for you)
Heel Height
Vamp Height
* Pads or Cushions
(Please tell us what you currently wear in your pointe shoes AND if you want to continue wearing these pads with our shoes. Note that most dancers need far less cushioning in our shoes and that large pads can affect our size selection.)
List any other pointe shoe brands you have used — including if you have previously worn Gaynor Minden — and the sizes that fit you best. (NOTE: Gaynor Minden size codes are printed inside each shoe near the heel. If you can send this code, it will help us with a more specific size assessment):
What do you particularly like or dislike about how your pointe shoes fit?
Please list any injuries affecting your pointework
Is there anything else we should know?

Step 5: Submit Your Sizing Information

Photos of your feet are a big help! Cell phone photos are fine, as long as they are in focus and not blurry. Please take pictures of your feet — one looking down at the top of the foot while standing flat, and the other looking at the inner profile, fully pointed. (See examples below.) If you have trouble uploading your photos to this page here, you can email them(with all requested information on this form) to fitters@dancer.com.
